Man Arrested Twice In One Day After Assault On Cop, Armed Robbery In Capital Region: Police
An Albany man is facing a long list of charges after being arrested not once, but twice in the same day — first for attacking police officers, and hours later for robbing someone at gunpoint, police said.
Brian Briggs, 32, of Albany, was taken into custody early Monday, May 12, after officers responded to reports of a trespasser at Townsend Park Apartments on Central Avenue, according to Albany Police.

Man, 31, Assaults Infant In Capital Region, Police Say
A Capital Region man is facing child endangerment charges after allegedly abusing a baby under the age of one, police said.
Cody Falconio, 31, of Northumberland, was arrested on suspicion of assault and child endangerment on Friday, April 25, according to New York State Police.
Troopers were contacted hours earlier about the alleged mistreatment of an infant. An investigation revealed that the day prior, Falconio grabbed the child in a manner “to be injurious,” police said.
Falconio was arraigned in Moreau Town Court released on $5,000 bail.

A man is behind bars after a road rage incident ended in a violent assault with a glass object in the Capital Region, authorities said.
Rensselaer County resident Matthew Blanding, age 39, of Rensselaer, was arrested on Wednesday, April 30, following a warrant for assault and weapons charges connected to the assault, which happened in Saratoga County, New York State Police announced on Monday, May 5.
The events leading to the assault began on Hudson Street in South Glens Falls as a road rage confrontation between Blanding and a driver he did not know, police said.

Kerry Binns, 69, of New York, NY, allegedly punched a certified nursing assistant in the arm while visiting a relative at Ephrata Manor Nursing Home on Bethany Road around 10:30 p.m. on Monday, April 28, according to Ephrata Police.
