A child care worker at a Westchester YMCA has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child for allegedly handling a toddler roughly on multiple occasions, officials said.
Molly Swain, 34, of Rye, was arraigned Friday, April 24 in Rye City Court, where she was released on her own recognizance, according to Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace.
The charge stems from a Wednesday, April 1 incident in Rye, where Swain allegedly lifted a 19-month-old toddler by the arms and dropped the child to the floor with force, authorities said.

A New York man who had 391 grams of cocaine and 125 grams of fentanyl in his possession has been sentenced to several years in prison, authorities announced Friday, April 24.
Quentin Rowlett, 37, was sentenced to eight years behind bars followed by five years of probation after pleading guilty to felony drug possession charges, the Albany County District Attorney’s office announced.
The guilty plea for Rowlett, of Albany, marked his second felony drug conviction, prosecutors said.

An Albany man pulled a knife while inside an ambulance and later stabbed himself when the cops responded on Thursday, April 23, police said.
Kyle Seymour, 36, was a “mentally unwell” patient in the ambulance when he drew the knife around 1:10 p.m. as the vehicle was traveling on New Scotland Avenue near Holland Avenue outside Albany Medical Center, the Albany Police Department said.

Jeffrey MacDonald, 36, of Wilbraham, is charged with murder and assault and battery on a police officer after his arrest at Hotel UMass, according to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office.

A New York man who punched another father in the face outside a children’s play area was convicted of assault on Wednesday, April 22, authorities said.
Joshua Hunter, 47, was found guilty of third-degree assault and seven counts of child endangerment, the Albany County District Attorney’s office said.

A Spring Valley man has been arrested after a body was found beneath a pickup truck in a Ramapo parking lot, police said.
Officers responded at approximately 7:15 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, to a report of a deceased person at 18 Park Ave., in the South Spring Valley section of Ramapo, according to a release from the Ramapo Police Department.
