A New York man with a lengthy criminal history got an extra 18 months in prison for attacking a fellow inmate — while already awaiting sentencing in an assault case, authorities said.
Bradley Bova, 47, of Troy, was sentenced Wednesday, July 8 to five and a half years behind bars, the Albany County District Attorney’s office said. He pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree attempted assault.

UPDATE: A child has died after being struck by a school bus in Rockland County, police confirm.
The crash happened at around 9 a.m. on Blauvelt Road in Monsey on Wednesday, July 8, according to Ramapo Police.
The girl had been crossing the street at 182 Blauvelt Rd. when she was struck by the school bus.
Emergency crews, including Hatzoloh EMS and the Ramapo Police Department, responded to the scene.
