Fentanyl-Hauling Duo Busted Headed North In Hudson Valley: Police
Two New Yorkers driving through Westchester County were busted with pre-packaged fentanyl for sale, authorities said Friday, July 24.
Brad Columbus, 41, and Danielle Ostrum, 37, both of Schenectady, were arrested Monday, July 20 after a traffic stop on the northbound New York State Thruway in Yonkers, New York State Police said.
Troopers found multiple glassine envelopes with fentanyl, a couple grams of cocaine, and “several other varieties and amounts” of illegal drugs, according to police. Columbus was also busted for driving without a license, authorities said.

Midnight Shooting, Escape To Georgia End With NY Attempted Murder Charges: Authorities
A New York man who fled to Georgia after a shooting has been indicted on an attempted murder charge, authorities said.
Rodney Burton, 55, of Troy, shot and wounded a man near a street corner in Troy just after midnight on May 26, the Troy Police Department said. The adult male victim suffered two non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, cops said.
Burton later fled to Georgia, but he was captured on Wednesday, July 8 with the assistance of U.S. Marshals, authorities said. He was then extradited back to New York.

Cocaine-Carrying Driver Had 0.19 BAC In Capital Region Stop: State Police
A New York man was busted driving drunk, high, and in possession of cocaine on Tuesday, July 21, police said.
Salvy J. Prisco, 42, was pulled over on New Kramer Road in Guilderland for a traffic violation, New York State Police said.
During the stop, troopers found cocaine in Prisco’s vehicle and determined he was drunk and high behind the wheel, authorities said. His BAC was measured at 0.19, and investigators also took a blood test for drugs, according to state police.

Four Burglaries, One Suspect: Package Thief Targeted Albany Apartments, Cops Say
Four Capital Region burglaries have all been tied to the same suspect, police announced Thursday, July 23.
Erick O. Green, 36, was behind four separate package theft incidents in Albany, the Albany Police Department said.
Green, of Albany, entered an apartment building on the 200 block of Spruce Street near Henry Johnson Boulevard three times and stole packages, according to police. He also entered a different building on the 100 block of Myrtle Avenue and swiped a package, investigators said.

A New York man who opened fire on an occupied car on a busy Albany street is headed to prison, authorities said.
Michael Johnson, 40, of Hudson, was sentenced Wednesday, July 22 to nine years and six months in prison for the shooting, the Albany County District Attorney’s office announced.
Johnson was walking in the area of Henry Johnson Boulevard and Clinton Avenue just after 9 p.m. on Oct. 19, 2024, when he opened fire on a vehicle in the roadway, investigators said.
