LI Man Holds Officers At Bay For Hours, Throws Oil-Filled Bottles At Officers, Police Say
A reported suicidal person on Long Island held police at bay for more than four hours while throwing oil-filled bottles at officers, according to police.
The incident began in Southampton around 7:15 a.m., Friday, April 22.
According to Southampton Town Police, the department received a call reporting a missing person who was suicidal.
Patrol officers, along with members of the detective division were able to locate the individual at about 3 p.m., in the Riverwoods Mobile Home Park, located on Route 104 in Riverside, said Lt. Todd Spencer, of the Southampton Police.

Five Injured In Head-On Long Island Crash Involving Drunk Driver, Police Say
Five people suffered non-life-threatening injuries after being hit head-on by an alleged unlicensed drunk driver who was carrying a loaded gun.
The crash occurred in Suffolk County around 7:50 p.m., Sunday, March 14, on Sound Avenue after the driver of an eastbound vehicle, Margarito Romero Quinteros, age 53, of Riverhead, crossed over the double yellow line and hit another vehicle head-on, Riverhead Town police said.
The five people in the vehicle that was struck were transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead for treatment, police said.

Suffolk County Man Arrested For Assault, Police Say
A Long Island man was arrested following a physical dispute with another man who was injured.
Suffolk County resident Jason Melenciano, age 40, of Riverhead, was arrested around 9:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 20, following a dispute with another man who received a laceration to his arm, Riverhead Police said.
According to police, Riverhead police responded to a home at 5050 West Main St., for a report of a physical dispute involving residents.

Mother Charged After Suffolk County Crash Critically Injures Her 4-Year-Old Daughter
A Long Island mother has been arrested for driving while impaired by drugs following a crash that critically injured her 4-year-old daughter.
The crash took place around 11:40 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 13, on Flanders Road in the town of Southampton, said the New York State Police.
According to Trooper Daniel Ahlgrim, the collision occurred between a 2005 Toyota Rav 4 and a 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan.
The driver of the Rav 4 was Amy Wesolowski, 34 of Riverhead, carrying passenger Gracelyn Perkowski, 4 years old of Riverhead.
