The arrests occurred as part of a “Project 21” bust that took place in East Meadow on Thursday, June 20. It happened on Friday, Jan. 1 just after 5:30 p.m. in East Meadow. More Than 150 Evacuated After Fire At East Meadow Summer Camp More than 150 children and counselors were forced to safely evacuate a Long Island nursery school after it caught fire in East Meadow. Big Chief Nursery School and Camp caught fire at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, on North Jerusalem Road near the intersection of Newbridge Road. Man, Woman Arrested For Robbing, Injuring 79-Year-Old Woman In Ronkonkoma A monthslong investigation has led to the arrests of a man and woman for injuring and robbing a 79-year-old Ronkonkoma woman in May. Patrick Schlereth and Brittany Thorner robbed the woman of her purse in a parking lot, located at 318 Portion Road, in Ronkonkoma on May 26, at approximately 5:45 p.m., Suffolk County Police said. During the robbery the woman suffered injuries to her arm.
