Mom Intentionally Drove Son Into Connecticut Lake In Murder/Suicide, Police Say Police have determined that a mother “intentionally drove” into a Connecticut lake, killing herself and her son who was a passenger. The incident took place on Friday, July 31, when Connie Crowell, age 54, of Monroe, and her passenger and son John Crowell, age 22, both died due to drowning when she drove an SUV into the Housatonic Lake in western New Haven County in the Town of Seymour, on Roosevelt Drive. NYC Duo Charged In $42.8K Scam With Money Sent To Vacant Homes In Fairfield County, Police Say Two men from New York City were arrested as they retrieved $42,800 in payments sent by victims of a telephone scam to vacant homes for sale in Fairfield County, police say. Police received a complaint on Tuesday, Nov. 19, of suspicious activity concerning the delivery of packages to vacant homes for sale.  On Friday, Nov. 22, police received a call from a UPS security about suspicious deliveries scheduled to be delivered to two vacant homes for sale in eastern Fairfield County in the town of Monroe.  Surveillance was set up on each of the homes.
