One person suffered severe injuries in an overnight crash in front of a Long Island shopping center. It happened just before 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, in Miller Place. A 33-year-old Selden man was operating a 2016 Suzuki westbound on Route 25A at 6:55 p.m. when the motorcycle struck the rear of an eastbound 2023 Chevrolet Traverse attempting to turn left into the Miller Place Plaza, located at 451 Route 25A, according to Suffolk County Police. Long Island Man Nabbed For Two Carjackings, One Attempted Theft, Police Say
A Long Island man has been arrested for allegedly carjacking two vehicles and attempting to steal another while wearing only shorts and high on a hallucinogen. The incident began around 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 5, in Suffolk County when a woman called the Riverhead Police to report that a man had just attempted to carjack her vehicle, said Detective Michael Schmidt of the Riverhead Police. Workers Overcome By Carbon Monoxide At Long Island Construction Site
Two construction employees were overcome by carbon monoxide while working at a home on Long Island. The incident took place around 5 p.m., Thursday, April 15, when Southampton Police received a call regarding an unconscious man at a residence on Bay Avenue North, in Hampton Bays, said Southampton Police Lt. More than 50 percent of the hospital workers on Long Island who are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine have done so, though the region is lagging behind others across the state. New York Gov. Northwell Gets State Approval To Open Four Cardiac Catheterization Labs
Three Northwell Health facilities have received approval from the state to establish cardiac catheterization labs, expanding access to critical cardiology services in the region. The facilities are Lenox Health Greenwich Village, Mather Hospital in Port Jefferson and Plainview Hospital.
