Armed Duo Steals $140K From Victim Outside Long Island Bank, Police Say
Two alleged armed robbers are behind bars months after a victim lost six figures in cash outside a Long Island bank.
Gloria Chamorro, 32, and Luis Lizardo, 45, both of Brooklyn, were arrested on suspicion of robbery and related charges Thursday, Dec. 19.
Nassau County Police said the duo approached a 36-year-old man outside the Bank of America on Jerusalem Boulevard in Hicksville shortly before 9 a.m. on July 29.
Working with three others, Chamorro and Lizardo forcibly removed a bag from the victim that contained $140,000 in cash, police said.

$17,000 Bank Fraud Scam Targets Long Island Man
A Long Island man was the victim of a bank fraud scam that cost him nearly $17,000, according to police.
On Tuesday, May 9, a 44-year-old Flower Hill man attempted to purchase an item online, the Nassau County Police Department reported.
However, the website asked the man to provide personal information, and he soon canceled the purchasing process as it made him uncomfortable.
The next day, the victim received a call from an unknown man claiming he was a Bank of America Fraud Specialist, police said.

Police apprehended an alleged attempted bank robber on Long Island shortly after the incident.
The attempted robbery occurred in Nassau County at the Bank of America around 9:45 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 22.
According to Nassau County Police detectives, Darren Lindo, age 38, of Hicksville entered the Bank of America located at 2443 Hempstead Turnpike, approached the female teller, and passed a note demanding cash.

Bank Robbery Spree: Suspect Nabbed After String Of Incidents In Nassau County
A suspect has been apprehended after a string of bank robberies and attempted robberies on Long Island that started in early January.
At about 1:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, the suspect, identified as Willian Andrade Jordan, age 31, entered the Bank of America in Baldwin, at 2300 Grand Ave., approached a teller, passed a note threatening a gun and a knife and demanded three thousand dollars, Nassau County Police said.

A suspect was apprehended after an attempted robbery at a Long Island bank.
The incident happened Wednesday, July 6 in Wantagh.
The suspect, Anthony J. Trentacosta, age 30, of Seaford, entered the Bank of America located at 3330 Park Avenue, approached a female teller and produced a demand note for US currency, Nassau County Police said.
