Fifth Precinct officers responded to Connetquot High School, located at 190 7th St., on Thursday, May 2, after a school administrator called the police to say he was informed by multiple students that they overheard three students during the bus ride home on Wednesday, May 1, discussing building a bomb to detonate at the school, police said.
Three 16-year-old males were arrested at the school and charged with felony conspiracy, police said.
The homes of all three students were searched and one of the students possessed a copy of The Anarchist Cookbook, which contains bomb-making instructions, they added.
The three will be arraigned Thursday in Youth Court at First District Court in Central Islip.
The investigation is continuing.
More details will be released at a 5:30 p.m. press conference Thursday.
