Suffolk County Police Officer Injured In Crash With BMW On LIE

A Suffolk County police officer was injured when his patrol car was rear-ended by another vehicle on the Long Island Expressway.

The two-vehicle crash took place around 11:43 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, eastbound in Farmingville, said the Suffolk County police.

The officer was parked on the side of the roadway, west of Exit 65, when his marked patrol vehicle was rear-ended by a 2015 BMW X5, police said.

The officer was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. 

The male driver of the BMW was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue for treatment of minor injuries.
