The 23-year-old is partnering with his childhood friend, 26-year-old Jake Sosne, to create a five-star transportation service between lower Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Hamptons.
“We both grew up at the Hamptons. We actually went to high school together, and our families are very close,” Jake told Forbes. “Jack and I have always toyed with a bunch of different ideas mostly in hospitality catering to the deep social network and family network that we have both between Manhattan and Hamptons.”
The service, known as ROVE, will launch later this summer and use Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans to provide transport at a “mid-level” price point.
ROVE differs from other transport services in that its pick-up and drop-offs are in Downtown New York, Williamsburg and Brooklyn. Service will also be available after the Surf Lodge Sunday concert returning to the city.
“The Surf Lodge in Montauk has a concert series that everybody goes to on Sunday, so instead of having to run to the train we're going to have direct service after the concert,” said Jack.
ROVE offers by-the-seat nonstop service, and unlike other options like Jitney and LIRR, riders will also have the opportunity to launch a ‘private charter’ with curbside service or crowdsource to sell unwanted seats back on the network.
Once a passenger boards ROVE, they’ll receive a custom beach tote back stocked with goodies for the trip, including Jaden Smith's JUST water, RX bar, More Labs and Lukes Organics and Highline Wellness. Christie Brinkley is also said to be supplying her Bellisima Prosecco on ROVE’s inaugural runs.
