A mom is accused of driving drunk with her two young sons in the SUV before crashing into the woods late Saturday night in New York, police said in a release issued Sunday, July 19.
Jesher Rivera-Barreto, 31, of Medford, was driving a 2006 Toyota 4Runner southbound on Horseblock Road at the intersection of Montauk Highway in Brookhaven when she lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, and crashed into the woods around 11:25 p.m., Suffolk County Police said.

A wild police chase that ended in the Capital District uncovered more than 500 pounds of marijuana and led to two arrests, state police said.
Torrey Jackson, 39, and Tori Rushlow, 29, were captured at the end of the chase in Wilton on Thursday, July 16, New York State Police said. They were hit with numerous charges, including attempted aggravated assault on a police officer and first-degree weed possession, and held without bail.
