500-Pound Weed Bust Follows Wrong-Way Chase On NY Highway: Police
A wild police chase that ended in the Capital District uncovered more than 500 pounds of marijuana and led to two arrests, state police said.
Torrey Jackson, 39, and Tori Rushlow, 29, were captured at the end of the chase in Wilton on Thursday, July 16, New York State Police said. They were hit with numerous charges, including attempted aggravated assault on a police officer and first-degree weed possession, and held without bail.

The lawsuit, which stems from the death of Briarcliff Manor resident Donike Gocaj, 56, who was killed after plunging into an uncovered manhole near East 52nd Street and Fifth Avenue on Monday, May 18, was filed Thursday, July 16, in New York Supreme Court, the New York Post reported.

A routine patrol in Dutchess County led to the arrest of a man on felony drug charges after officers allegedly saw him with narcotics in plain sight, police said.
Frank Vannicolo, 36, was arrested on Tuesday, July 14, the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department announced on Thursday, July 16.
