: Tuesday Crash KOs Power, Shuts Lincoln Park Street Until Midnight
A portion of Boonton Turnpike in Lincoln Park will be closed until 12 a.m. Wednesday after a violent car accident Tuesday morning, police said. A truck collided with a sedan at the intersection of Riverview Avenue before spinning out of control and landing underneath a bent utility pole just before 7 a.m., ABC7 reports. The turnpike will be closed between Comly and Ryerson roads, police said. Local residents reported power outages following the crash.

Teen Driver Gets Summons In Crash That Split River Vale Utility Pole, KO'd Area Power
UPDATE: A 17-year-old River Vale driver who had to be removed through the sunroof after a crash split a utility pole in two -- knocking out power to the area -- received a careless driving summons, police said. Sparking Wires Close Route 46 In Lodi
Route 46 in Lodi was closed in both directions mid-Monday morning after downed utility lines caught fire. Heavy snow apparently brought the wires down at Condemi Motor Company, next to an apartment complex on the highway's westbound side. PSE&G responded along with police and firefighters. The utility reported a dozen or so customers without electricity as of 10:30 a.m.

Police: Mahwah Motorist Who KO'd Ramapo College Power In Crash Was DWI
A Mahwah motorist said an icy roadway sent his pickup into a utility pole, taking wires down and cutting power to Ramapo College and surrounding homes Wednesday night – but police said he was intoxicated. The 2017 Ford F-150 crashed during the freezing rain on Route 202 near the entrance to the college’s sculpture studio just after 10 p.m., Police Chief James N. Batelli said. Long Hill School Bus Driver Cited In Crash That Downed Power Lines, Briefly Trapped Students
A 62-year-old Long Hill school bus driver has been cited for a crash last month that caused live power lines to fall on the vehicle, trapping eight students inside before power was shut to the area. Sarah Scott-Farrar of Irvington is on suspension with the bus company and is not driving a route in Long Hill, according to District Superintendent Edwin Acevedo. No injuries were reported in the Jan. 28 crash, when Scott-Farrar lost control of the vehicle while attempting a left turn. The eight children made it to school safely.

Students Trapped Under Live Power Lines In Long Hill School Bus Crash
Eight students and one adult were helped off of a school bus that veered off the road and into a utility pole, toppling power lines around 8:30 a.m. Monday. The Millington and Gillette students and the driver were helped off the bus after power was cut by JCP&L about 10 minutes after the crash, resulting in area outages. Fallen Tree Blocks Busy Washington Township Road
A fallen tree blocked a heavily traveled Washington Township road Monday afternoon. The tree fell onto high-tension electric lines and communications cables in the 700 block of Werimus Road, bringing police and firefighters from the township, a PSE&G crew and police from Hillsdale and Ho-Ho-Kus. A severe thunderstorm knocked out power Tuesday afternoon to nearly 5,000 customers throughout Bergen County, while igniting tree, utility pole and house fires, downing wires and darkening traffic lights. Traffic Jam, Power Outage: SUV Slams Into Route 17 Utility Pole In Ramsey
A driver was hospitalized with a head injury after his SUV slammed into a utility pole early Friday evening on Route 17 in Ramsey. Downed power lines fell in front of and behind a Federal Express tractor-trailer, further thickening area traffic near Spring Street and knocking out power to some area customers. Substation Fire Cuts Power To Thousands In Elmwood Park, Fair Lawn
Nearly 6,000 customers in Fair Lawn and Elmwood Park were without power on Sunday after a fire at a sub-station. The electrical fire broke out in the electrical substation on Banta Place near Morlot Avenue in Fair Lawn around 11:15 a.m., knocking out power to various areas of both towns -- including the lights on Broadway in Fair Lawn.
