Annie is a proud alumna of Purdue University, with degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Anthropology. She began her journalism career in front of a camera, reporting news across the Midwest.

Annie’s passion for journalism began back in high school during her time in Youth In Government, where she served as as reporter and press editor for several years. She is proud to have pursued her childhood dream of becoming a journalist. From breaking news to archery on horseback to hanging out with kangaroos, Annie is grateful to share the stories and events of those around her.

In her free time, Annie enjoys showing her horses and watching sports. The only granddaughter of Indiana Pacer’s founder Chuck DeVoe and stepdaughter of Purdue Men’s Basketball Announcer and former player Ralph Taylor, Annie’s love for Indiana basketball runs deep.

A US history buff, Annie is proud to provide news to the Capitol region.

Police ID Victim Gunned Down In Baltimore Home Invasion Last Month Police have identified a 29-year-old man who was killed in a home invasion late last month. Nathan Smyth was shot and killed after a group of three suspects entered his residence in the 1800 block of Eagle Street on Monday, March 27, according to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland. Odenton Elementary School Employee Brought Gun Onto School Property, Police Say A 29-year-old Odenton elementary school employee has been charged after bringing a loaded weapon onto school property. Anne Arundel County police officers were alerted that Seven Oaks Elementary School employee, Charese Thompson had brought a loaded gun onto the property around 12 p.m., Thursday, April 12.  Officers located Thompson, who advised them that there was a loaded handgun under the driver's seat of the vehicle. The weapon was recovered and Thompson was charged accordingly.  Police do not know whether or not the gun was brought into the school or if threats were made.

One Dead In Overnight Shooting In West Baltimore A 30-year-old man is dead after an overnight shooting in Baltimore. Officers were called to a Shot Spotter alert around 1:15 a.m., Thursday, April 13, according to Baltimore police. Police found the 30-year-old victim in the 2000 block of West Lexington Street suffering from gunshot wounds.  The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Officers were called to the intersection of Franklin and Cathedral Street around 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 12 after receiving reports that a pedestrian had been hit. When officers arrived, they found the pedestrian pinned in between the striking vehicle and a building near the intersection.
