“The NBHA is not under any form of federal investigation. No subpoenas have been issued, no records have been removed and there is no Inspector General review taking place,” said attorney Brian Giblin.
“What is true,” Giblin said, “is that the NBHA is highly rated by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. It is considered a ‘high performing’ housing authority by HUD for the past ten years.”
The article also incorrectly stated which properties the NBHA owns, rents and manages.
The NBHA owns, rents, and manages 985 low-income public housing units and provides rental assistance under the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program to an additional 420 low-income families residing in privately-owned rental units located throughout the Township of North Bergen.
The units are spread among four developments:
*Meadowview Village (low-income housing)
*Lawler Towers (senior/disabled)
*Terrace Apartments (senior/disabled)
*Cullum Tower (senior/disabled)
