Brush Fire Breaks Out In Allendale Yard Firefighters put out a brush fire that broke out in a Bergen County yard Monday, Nov. 4. The Allendale Volunteer FD said neighbors were helping to contain that blaze that broke out behind a home on Byron Court when they arrived. "935’s Crew quickly established a water supply, ran an attack line to the rear of the structure, and knocked the fire down in minutes," the department said on Instagram, sharing a video of the attack. Mets Claim Park Ridge Pitcher Kevin Herget Kevin Herget will be pitching a stone's throw away from his home state next season. The Mets signed the 33-year-old Park Ridge native off waivers from the Milwaukee Brewers, the MLB confirmed Monday, Nov. 4. The Kean University Hall of Famer was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 39th round of the 2013 MLB Draft. Herget made his MLB debut in 2022 with the Tampa Bay Rays. Wires Left Draping Over Tractor Trailer, Cars In East Rutherford Crash A tractor-trailer caused major damage and danger Monday morning, Nov. 4 in East Rutherford. According to the fire department, the vehicle struck a pole at Paterson Avenue and Herman Street around 11:50 a.m. "The impact caused significant damage, resulting in additional telephone poles being affected and damage to other vehicles," the department said. The borough police and fire departments responded, as did the county's HazMat team and PSE&G. The roadway will be closed until PSEG crews can safely complete repairs.

Dogs Mauling Child Shot, Officer Grazed By Bullet At Sayreville Motel, Prosecutor Says A police officer and a child were both hospitalized during a harrowing incident at a Central Jersey motel, authorities said. ID Of Tow Truck Operator Killed By Passing Car On Route 19 In Paterson Released A tow truck operator was killed by a passing vehicle on Route 19 over the weekend, authorities said. Manuel Perez, 64, was trying to hook another vehicle to his truck on the southbound side of the highway when he was struck by a Toyota sedan that then struck the tow truck and overturned around 11:40 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 3 at milepost 2-3, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M.
