A 65-year-old police officer from the Hudson Valley was killed and his wife hospitalized after a wrong-way crash on Route 17 in Sullivan County, NY according to New York State Police and law enforcement organizations.
Jose A. Santiago Jr., of Washingtonville, NY was behind the wheel of a 2021 Hyundai when he was struck by a 2019 Mercedes Sprinter Van, operated by Robert Cromer, 62, of Liberty, on Saturday, March 21, NYSP said.

New York State Police Troopers responded to the crash near Exit 113 eastbound in Wurtsboro, and the highway was closed at Exit 112, according to NYSP Trooper Jennifer Alvarez.

Garfield Man, 21, Shot Dead In Paterson: Prosecutor
A 21-year-old man from Garfield was shot and killed in Paterson late Saturday afternoon, March 22, authorities said.
The shooting happened around 5:05 p.m., near 12th Avenue and East 24th Street, according to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Officer-In-Charge Patrick Murray.
When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, officials said. He was rushed to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

NJ Brothers Killed, Puppy Dies In I-95 Crash After Car Flips Off Overpass In Philly: Police
Two young brothers from New Jersey were killed and a puppy was also found dead after a violent crash sent a car flying off I-95 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania State Police said.
The deadly crash happened Friday night, March 21, around 8:12 p.m., near mile marker 25.5 on I-95 North by the Castor Avenue overpass, PSP Trooper Paul Holdefer said (see videos from the scene on Citizen).
