Haledon Officer Shot While Conducting Drill At Passaic County Shooting Range
A Haledon police officer is recovering after an accidental shooting during a rifle course at the Passaic County shooting range this week, authorities said. The officer was conducting a drill during the week-long course when a round discharged into his leg on Wednesday, Sept. 10 around 12:45 p.m. at the range in Paterson, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said. The Officer was taken to St. Joseph’s Medical Center for treatment for injuries that were described as non-life threatening.

A 23-year-old man was arrested after police saw him swipe a package from a porch in Passaic County then brought officers on a foot pursuit. Two car thieves were in custody after the driver led a pursuit and crashed, leaving his pal at the scene in Morris County this week, police said. On Wednesday, Sept. 4 around 1:45 a.m., Pompton Lakes Patrolman Collins was on duty when he spotted a 2023 Toyota Corolla that had been reported stolen the night before, police said in a news release. Justin Hoyt, Passaic County Native, Dies, 26
Passaic County native Justin Hoyt died on Tuesday, Aug. 27, his obituary on the Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home website says. He was 26 years old. A Woodland Park native, Justin also lived in Little Falls but had moved to California two years ago to bettering himself and "working with those suffering from addiction, helping others on their journey," his obituary says. Two West Nile Virus-Related Deaths Among Six New Cases Reported In New Jersey
New Jersey health officials are reporting an additional six cases of West Nile Virus including two deaths, and two presumptive viremic blood donor (PVD) cases in the state. The six new WNV cases are residents of Bergen, Camden, Cumberland, Hudson, Mercer, and Middlesex counties (one 50+, two 60+, one 70+, two 80+). Boil Water Advisory Issued In Parts Of Passaic County Amid Water Main Break
American Water has issued a boil water advisory across parts of Passaic County. The advisory was issued Thursday, Aug. 15 at noon to American Water customers across Little Falls and Woodland Park. The advisory was the result of emergency repairs to a water main break on Notchcroft Drive in the Great Notch area of Little Falls.
