A family member picked up 52-year-old Brian O’Malley from police headquarters after he was processed on charges of DWI, reckless driving and oeprating a motor vehicle with an open container of alcohol -- a 16-ounce can of Coors Light -- last Friday night, Capt. Laurence Martin said.
O'Malley wasn't injured, Martin said.
His 2002 Grand Jeep Cherokee struck five vehicles - three of which had to be towed, the captain said. This tied up are traffic for nearly 90 minutes, he said.
After being clothed, he failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody, Martin said.
Willowbrook security and Fairfield police assisted their Wayne colleagues with the crash scene, he said.
