Two other people were struck in the 1 a.m. shooting at 139 Godwin Avenue, one of whom remained hospitalized and the other who was released after treatment, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief William Fraher said.

Five people were reported struck by bullets in the city over the weekend.

Another, reported around 7 a.m. Sunday on Chestnut Street, left an apparent robbery victim with a gunshot wound in his leg, City Police Director Jerry Speziale said.

Speziale’s department also was investigating the Saturday night shooting of a motorist at Richmond and Totowa avenues, the chief said. Struck in the shoulder, he was later released after treatment at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, he said.
