Authorities: Wayne Man With Gun, 81, Kills Wife, Then Himself

WAYNE, N.J. – An 81-year-old Wayne man shot and killed his 80-year-old wife, then turned the gun on himself, authorities said.

The bodies were found at their Dwyer Road home.

Daniel Martone shot both at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the couple’s Dwyer Road home, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Wayne Police Chief James Clarke said in a joint announcement released just before midnight.

An investigation was continuing, they said.
