Convicted Murderer, Mom Break 4-Year-Old Boy's Bones, Burn Him: Affidavit
A convicted murderer and the mother of a 4-year-old boy are accused in a disturbing child abuse case that left the child with broken bones, burns, bruises, and injuries doctors ultimately categorized as "torture," according to court documents obtained by Daily Voice on Tuesday, Aug. 11.
Raheem Akbar Shabazz Floyd, 38, who was on parole for a North Carolina murder conviction, and the boy's mother, Brianna Nichole Nolte-Maple, 32, were arrested in Harrisburg following an investigation into the child's extensive injuries on Friday, Aug. 7, according to the affidavit.

A Hackensack man with a long criminal history is behind bars again after police said he grabbed a large knife and threatened a family member in an argument over cleaning the kitchen, authorities said.

A Bergen County resident lost $7,000 after a caller posing as her jailed granddaughter set off an elaborate bail scam, police said.
The resident reported the scam in January 2025 after receiving a call from a private number, Ramsey Police Detective Jaclyn Sabatelli said. The caller claimed to be the woman's granddaughter, said she was in jail in New York, and needed $7,000 for bail, according to Sabatelli.

A 21-year-old BMW driver from Clifton has been charged in a four-vehicle North Bergen crash that killed a 34-year-old woman and injured five others, authorities said.
Mahmoud Khalifa was arrested Monday, Aug. 10, in connection with the Saturday, May 30 crash, just after 4:30 a.m. near Tonnelle Avenue and 70th Street, Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello said.
