Three people were arrested after a man was assaulted by a firearm during a drug deal in Whippany on Saturday, Oct. 12, authorities said. The two people responsible for a shooting Monday morning, Nov. 4, were arrested less than two hours later, authorities said. Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. The mayor of one New Jersey town is facing weapons offenses for an incident that happened in a high school parking lot, police said. Linwood police released a statement saying only that Erland V. Chau, 72, was charged with harassment, disorderly conduct, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose stemming from an incident in the Mainland Regional High School on Oct. 1.
