Newark Man Pleads Guilty In Morris County Police Chase, Crash Involving 2 Juveniles
A 24-year-old Newark man pleaded guilty Wednesday in connection to a Morris County police pursuit and crash that involved two juveniles. Isaac Zackery-Barnes entered the plea to charges of second-degree eluding and third-degree receiving stolen property, Hanover Police Chief Michael Loock said. Zackery-Barnes fled from Hanover officers in a stolen vehicle with two juveniles in Sept. 2020, Loock said. Investigators continue to search for clues 25 years after a beloved Morris County business owner was shot and killed in his own driveway. Richard Breitbarth, 48, was shot several times and hit with a blunt instrument in the driveway of his home at 17 Baird Pl. in Whippany on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 1996 between 8:35 p.m. and 8:45 p.m., the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office said. A fire that ripped through an apartment building in Morris County before dawn Friday remained under investigation, authorities said. Jackknifed Tractor-Trailer Backs Up Route 80 In Morris County
A jackknifed tractor-trailer shut down Route 80 westbound Tuesday morning, authorities said. The tractor-trailer collided with a tanker truck and jackknifed at milepost 41 in Parsippany around 9:50 a.m., NJSP Alejandro Goez told Daily Voice. Four of five right lanes were closed for cleanup following the crash, Goez said. Major delays were reported. No serious injuries occurred in the crash, which remained under investigation.

Hunterdon County native and deduction analyst Joshua J. Parikh died August 22. He was 27. Parikh lived in Califon and graduated from East Stroudsburg University, his obituary says. SUV Driver, Passenger Entrapped, Hospitalized Following Route 80 Crash In Parsippany
An SUV driver and passenger were extricated and hospitalized following a Wednesday night crash on Route 80 in Parsippany, state police said. The driver lost control of a Toyota RAV4 and ran off the road into bushes and trees on Route 80 eastbound near milepost 41.8 in Parsippany just before 11:30 p.m., NJSP Sgt. Philip Curry told Daily Voice. The driver and passenger were entrapped in the vehicle and extricated by emergency crews, Curry said.
