A Bergen County resident is celebrating a life-changing windfall after claiming a $1 million prize from the New York Lottery sold over the summer.
Paul Seo, Little Ferry, matched the first five numbers — 34, 55, 59, 65, and 70 — missing only the Mega Ball, which was 12. Seo opted for a lump sum payment, taking home $651,000 after required withholdings.
Seo purchased the winning ticket from the Aug. 13 drawing at 741 Montauk Inc., a BP gas station located at 741 Montauk Highway in Shirley, NY.

A 37-year-old man fresh out of jail for stalking was arrested just hours later in Bergen County, police said.
Daniel MacTaggart, of Elmwood Park, was jailed on Sunday, Aug. 11 on charges of stalking as a repeat offender, driving on a suspended license/registration, and failure to possess driver's insurance card, court records show.

Man Charged With Vicious $30,000 Baseball Bat Assault-Robbery In Little Ferry
Federal authorities have moved to take custody of a Bergen County Jail inmate charged with stealing $30,000 from a man he bashed in the head with a baseball bat outside a Little Ferry business.
Jose Mejia, a 32-year-old Salvadoran national, was wanted for a Dec. 28 robbery in a parking lot just off Route 46 and Liberty Street.

Drug Buyer Attacks Detectives, Out-Of-Town Dealer Caught With Loaded Gun: Passaic Sheriff
A 50-year-old man who was busted buying drugs from a Little Ferry driver in Paterson fought with Passaic County sheriff's officers before he was subdued, authorities said.
The dealer who sold him the drugs, they said, is an ex-con who had a gun in his car.
Both are now facing serious charges.

A known offender was arrested again after a Dumont officer spotted him carrying bolt cutters while riding a bicycle down the main drag two hours before sunrise, authorities said.

Andrew Lugo, 35, of Bergenfield, has been arrested in several towns – among them, Saddle River, Hackensack, Englewood, Teaneck and Little Ferry – the past few years, records show.

Salesman From Little Ferry Charged With Sexually Assaulting Pre-Teen
A sales associate from Little Ferry was charged with sexually assaulting a pre-teen, authorities confirmed.
Rhuellah Riley, 24, “sexually assaulted the child in Little Ferry, NJ between the years 2020 and 2023,” Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
Little Ferry police alerted Musella’s Special Victims Unit to the allegations on July 17, the prosecutor said.
A joint investigation led to Riley’s arrest last Thursday, Sept. 7, on charges of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, sexual assault child endangerment, he said.

Update: Little Ferry Boy, 14, Buddy, 15, Charged With Attempted Murder In Moonachie Shooting
Two youths – one 14, the other 15 – were charged with attempted murder after the younger one fired a gunshot at three teens in Moonachie, authorities said.
The Little Ferry boy was on a bicycle with the older borough teen when he fired at the trio near the corner of Edstan Drive and Rooney Place shortly before 7:30 p.m. late last week, Moonachie Chief Richard Behrens said.
Sgt. Victor Migliorino heard the shot and raced to the scene, where a vehicle had been struck and a shell casing was recovered, the chief said.
An investigation into the May 25 incident led to both boys, Behrens said.
