Wanted Unlicensed DWI Driver Carrying Crack, Smack, X Flees Route 208 Stop: Fair Lawn PD
An unlicensed driver with multiple outstanding warrants was carrying a variety of drugs and under the influence when he sped off from a Route 208 traffic stop, Fair Lawn police said.
Basher Bajes, 38, of the Burlington County town of Palmyra, was initially stopped by Officer Matthew Hearon at the eastbound Morlot Avenue exit from northbound Route 208 shortly after 1 a.m. Thursday, Oct 19, Sgt. Eric Eleshewich said.
Hearon had gotten out of his vehicle when Bajes hit the gas on his PC Cruiser and headed west on Morlot, then back onto the northbound highway, the sergeant said.

Reckless Manslaughter Among New Charges For Driver In Fatal Route 1&9 Wreck
Additional charges have been filed against a New Jersey driver involved in a fatal wreck, authorities said.
Gabriel Melo, a 22-year-old Newark resident, was behind the wheel of a car when it crashed and killed 21-year-old Daniella Rosario, of Bloomfield, last month, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced on Thursday, Oct. 5.
Melo was originally charged with death by auto, but is now facing charges of aggravated manslaughter, reckless manslaughter and assault by auto, the prosecutor announced.

Prominent Attorney, Former Hudson County Prosecutor Harold Ruvoldt Dies, 81
Harold Ruvoldt, Jr. a prominent attorney in North Jersey, died on Sunday, Sept. 17 at the age of 81, according to his obituary.
Ruvoldt, who lived in Haworth and Jersey City, was a graduate of St. Peter's College, Seton Hall Law School and Rutgers University Business School, according to his obituary.
Ruvoldt was a trial and appellate lawyer working as a partner in private practice while also serving as a Hudson County prosecutor, Hudson County Counsel and Jersey City Counsel, his obituary reads.
