Gordon Ramsay appears to be giving a Bergen County pizzeria an overhaul. The celebrity chef was spotted at Da Mimmo in Dumont on Monday afternoon, June 5, architectural photographer Daniel Gorrin tells Daily Voice. Raging Overnight Fire Destroys River Edge Home
Sections of a River Edge home collapsed during a vicious overnight fire. A dog was killed in the blaze on Eastbrook Drive, near Forest Avenue and Route 4, at 1:40 a.m. Saturday, May 27, according to neighbors. No injuries were otherwise reported. Borough firefighters headed back to the scene when the blaze briefly rekindled around 11:30 a.m. It apparently began in the attached garage and quickly spread to some vehicles and through one end of the two-story, 3,500-square-foot wood-frame house. : Determined Dumont Detectives Tie NYC Ex-Con To Stolen $18,000
An ex-con who made $18,000 worth of unauthorized transactions in a Dumont victim’s name might have gone on unnoticed if not for the determination of two local detectives, their chief said. Reon Adams, 32, of Brooklyn, was charged with ID theft and theft after he was pegged by Dumont Police Detective Lt. Luke Totten and Detective Sam Schlamowitz, Police Chief Brian Joyce said. A custodian from Dumont who led police on a brief pursuit before crashing outside a church in Bergenfield was carrying $10,800 in cash, authorities said. An ex-con with a lengthy rap sheet had cocaine, oxycodone and a loaded gun within reach of his young child in one of gentrified Hackensack’s newest apartment buildings, authorities said. Hassan Akeem Coleman, 36, kept the drugs, weapon and ammo in a sliding drawer in the kitchen of his fifth-floor downtown apartment at the Woolworth Residences on Main Street, they said. A patron at a Dumont tavern was taken to the hospital after another customer hit him in the face with a bar stool on Christmas Eve, authorities said. Michael Robertson, 32, meanwhile, ended up spending the holiday in jail after fighting with officers who responded to the call of a patron throwing things in the East Madison Avenue establishment, Dumont Police Chief Brian Joyce said.
