Firefighters Battle Frelinghuysen Chimney Fire
Firefighters in Frelinghuysen Township battled a chimney fire that saw heavy smoke billowing on Monday evening, Jan. 22, the Allamuchy Fire Department said on Facebook and shared in a photo. At 9:20 p.m. the fire department responded to Heller Road in Frelinghuysen for fire. Firefighters requested mutual aid upon arrival after finding a working chimney fire that had spread to the attic, firefighters said. Firefighters spent two hours on scene before clearing the area at 11:30 p.m., firefighters said. There were no reports of any injuries.

Overnight Fire In Fair Lawn Serves As Reminder About Chimney Safety
A pre-dawn chimney fire doused by Fair Lawn's bravest serves as a critical public safety reminder. Fire from a chimney extended into the walls on the first floor of the Saddle River Road home shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday, March 26, Fire Chief Jake Mamo said. Mamo, who transmitted a general alarm, said firefighters quickly knocked down the blaze and opened the walls to check for any extension. No injuries were reported. : Early Morning Chimney Fire Tears Through Hunterdon County Home
Fire crews jumped to action to extinguish an early morning chimney fire that broke out at a Hunterdon County home. The blaze was reported just after 5:10 a.m. Monday at a home in Union Township, the Pattenburg Volunteer Fire Company said on Facebook. “Within minutes our Chief and Deputy were on scene,” the company said. After discovering heavy smoke in the crawl space and billowing flames from the floor, fire crews had to tear up insulation before working on dousing the blaze.
