Rutgers President To Resign At End Of School Year After Historic, Turbulent Tenure
Jonathan Holloway will resign as president of Rutgers University at the end of the 2024-25 academic year, the school announced. The university's 21st president will step down after finishing his fifth year in office on Monday, June 30, 2025, Rutgers said in a news release on Tuesday, Sept. 17. An NJ Transit traveling from Hoboken to Lake Hopatcong had to be evacuated in Morris County due to a smoke condition on the evening of Monday, Sept. 16, authorities said. A 60-year-old Denville woman was arrested and charged after she drove drunk and was involved in a crash on Saturday, Sept. 14, authorities said. Police responded to Righter Avenue for a report of a crash and found Maureen Beekman, one of the drivers in the crash, to be under the influence of liquor and/or drugs, Denville police said in a release.
