Neighbors' Dispute Ends With SWAT Standoff In NJ: Police
A neighbor dispute escalated when a man threatened responding police officers, prompting a SWAT response in a North Jersey town on Tuesday, Sept. 8, authorities said.
Officers responded to a home on Mountain Avenue for a reported dispute between neighbors, Berkeley Heights police said. Officers tried to contact one of the people involved, later identified as David Connolly, but he refused to open the door, police said.

16-Year-Old Shot During Fight At NJ Park, Police Say
A 16-year-old boy was shot in the arm during a fight involving his brother and two other males at a Piscataway park, authorities said.
The shooting happened at Irishtown Park, 101 Mountain Ave., on Sunday, Sept. 6, at approximately 7:44 p.m., Piscataway police said.
The Middlesex Borough teen had been at the park with family and friends when two males approached the group, police said.
A fight broke out involving the teen, his brother, and the two males, according to police. During the fight, one of the males pulled out a firearm and fired, striking the 16-year-old in the arm, police said.…
