At 3 a.m., officers responded to a report of a theft in progress at Schooley's Mountain Road in Washington Township, police said. Officers located the vehicle involved in the theft and arrested a 54-year-old man from Maryland and a 38-year-old New York man, police said. The duo were charged with burglary and theft, police said and were lodged in Morris County jail pending a court appearance.

In Morris Township, 74 customers were in the dark, and 18 had no power in Morristown. The outage map showed 248 customers were without power in Long Valley and Tewksbury as well. The JCP&L outage map shows 2,390 had no power in Warren County, mainly in Harmony Twp., Lopatcong, Phillipsburg, Pohatcong, and White Township as of 11:35 a.m. In Somerset County, nearly 900 residents had no power, mostly in Branchburg (790). Nearly 1,500 Hunterdon County residents were also in the dark. Those residents without power are mainly residents of Clinton, Holland, Lebanon, and Readington. Restoration times varied.
