A memorial scholarship has been launched in memory of a 16-year-old boy from South Jersey who died suddenly while playing frisbee with family members.
Owen Cotty, a student at Methacton high School, was tossing the frisbee with his dad when he fell to the ground on Saturday, Aug. 6, his dad, Adam Cotty said. CPR was administered before first responders arrived and, despite best efforts, could not resuscitate Owen.

UPDATE: Police in South Jersey had no choice but to shoot a Pennsylvania man who rushed at them with a broken bottle, a grand jury has found.
Grand jurors had crystal-clear bodycam video of officers alternately imploring and commanding Amir Johnson, 30, to drop the bottle during a late-afternoon standoff in the middle of an Atlantic County highway in August 2020.

NY Man Admits Killing Friend In South Jersey DWI Crash: Prosecutor
A 21-year-old man from Westchester County, NY, has pleaded guilty to killing a friend while driving impaired in South Jersey, authorities said.
Anthony Lorenz, of Ossining, NY, entered the plea Wednesday, April 6 in Superior Court in Mount Holly to charges of vehicular homicide, assault by auto and driving while intoxicated, according to Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina.
Under an agreement with the Prosecutor’s Office, Lorenz will serve six years in New Jersey State Prison in exchange for the plea, and must complete 85 percent of the term before being considered for parole. …
