Maria De Almeida, a first responder and longtime volunteer, died on Thursday, June 25, and is being remembered for her lifelong commitment to helping others.

DUI Driver Ran Stop Sign: Denville PD
A 22-year-old Jefferson Township woman was arrested and charged after driving under the influence in Denville on Monday, June 29.
At 10:35 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on Franklin Road near Route 46 after observing a vehicle speeding and failing to stop at a stop sign, Denville police said.
During the traffic stop, the driver, Carolyn Vanlenten, appeared to be impaired, police said. Field sobriety tests indicated she was operating the vehicle while intoxicated, police said.

John Oliver is stepping into a very different kind of televised chaos.
The host of HBO’s "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver" will appear on ABC’s "General Hospital" and Peacock’s "Days of Our Lives," he announced on his most recent show.
Oliver teased his new soap-ready looks and thanked both shows for doing something "uniquely outlandish to his hair."
