Ex-Con Dealing Heroin, Cocaine Gets 70 Years For Headshot Killing In Newark
A 28-year-old Newark man was sentenced to 70 years in state prison for a 2019 murder, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II announced.
In Feb. 2019, while dealing cocaine and heroin near a Newark public housing complex, Watson got a gun, walked toward Fred Sims, a 29-year-old Newark resident, and shot him in the head, Stephens said.
He then stood over Sims' body and shot him 10 more times before fleeing the scene.

An ex-con who once accidentally shot himself was nabbed by Paterson detectives with nearly 225 Oxycodone and Xanax pills, 30 vials of crack and $5,510 in proceeds, authorities said Tuesday.
Narcotics detectives responding to community complaints watched as Keith Devita, 27, and Samantha Jackson, 51, sold drugs in small amounts to buyers at the corner of Summer and Van Houten streets, city Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale said.
They followed two buyers out of the area and arrested both, then seized Devita and Jackson, Speziale said.

A Newark career criminal who once shot and killed a Paterson man must spend the next 10 years in federal prison for dealing heroin.
Shawn Alexander, 52, has spent all but three of the past 27 years in custody, including three stints in state prison, records show.
His most serious conviction followed the cold-blooded killing of a Paterson man in 1994.

Prosecutor: Former Warren County Municipal Tax Collector, 50, Stole Payments Totaling $824K
A Warren County woman admitted stealing more than $800,000 in payments while working as a municipal tax collector for three townships, authorities said.
Rachellyn Mosher, 50, misappropriated a total of $824,000 from taxpayers in White, Harmony and Lopatcong Township between 2013 and 2018, Prosecutor James L. Pfeiffer said in a joint release.
Mosher, of Lopatcong, pleaded guilty to official misconduct in Hunterdon County Superior Court Wednesday, Pfeiffer said.
