Tesla Causes Evacuation Of American Dream Mall (Update) Police have provided an update in the evacuation of the American Dream Mall in East Rutherford Tuesday evening, Oct. 8. Just after 5:30 p.m., American Dream security saw a Tesla legally parked on the ground level of the C parking deck with the driver’s side door left open and unattended, New Jersey State Police Sgt. 'Trouble At The Hotel:' 2 Men Shot, 1 Dead In Fairfield (Update) Details have been released in a deadly shooting on Friday, Oct. 4 in Fairfield. One man was killed and another wounded in a shooting at the Ramada Inn on 2 Bridges Road around 12:30 p.m., Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Fairfield Police Chief Anthony Manna said. "The Fairfield Police Department received a 911 call reporting unknown trouble at the hotel," Manna and Stephens said in a press release.  Arriving officers found two men with gunshot wounds at the scene. Shelter-In-Place Lifted At Union Catholic High School: Police Police in Fanwood have lifted a shelter-in-place order at Union Catholic High School on the afternoon of Monday, Jan. 22, officers said on Facebook. The order was caused by police activity at the high school on Martine Avenue in Scotch Plains, police said. All schools in Scotch Plains and Fanwood were under the order as a precaution, police said. Officers did not specify what the police activity was.

Secaucus PD: Routine Traffic Stop Turns Up Handgun Loaded With High-Capacity Magazine A routine motor vehicle stop turned up a handgun loaded with a high-capacity magazine and 23 bullets over the weekend in Secaucus, police said. Officer Michael Borrelli stopped a car at Paterson Plank Road and 1st Street for having tinted windows just before 1 p.m. Dec. 12, Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller said. During the stop, Borrelli noticed a semi-automatic handgun right next to the driver's seat, Miller said. The handgun contained a 30-round magazine, loaded with 23 .45 caliber bullets, the chief said.
