Teen Hid Recording Device Inside Multiple Bathrooms Including Jersey City Mall: Prosecutor
An 18-year-old Jersey City resident was arrested and charged on Tuesday, Oct. 1 after police found he hid a recording device inside a public restroom at a local mall, authorities said. A woman discovered the black device while using the family restroom on the first floor of JCPenney at the Newport Mall, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. The Hudson County Special Victims Unit investigated and identified Andy Cardenas as the person of interest, Suarez said. Man Assaulted, Robbed Of Cell Phone At Jersey City Mall, Authorities Say
A 43-year-old man was robbed of his cell phone and assaulted outside a Jersey City mall Wednesday afternoon, according to police. The man struggled with the thief, who assaulted him and ran off with his cell phone near the entrance of Newport Mall at approximately 4:15 p.m., Jersey City police spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione said. The victim was taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Wallace-Scalcione said. Additional details about the incident were not immediately available.

Pitbull, Akon Performing At Jersey City’s 4th Of July Fest
Jersey City’s sixth-annual Fourth of July Festival will feature musical performances by Pitbull and Jersey City and Newark native Akon, the city announced Monday.
