NJ Ranks Among Top States For Hospital Safety In Fall 2024, Leapfrog Report Finds
New Jersey hospitals are among the safest in the nation, according to the fall 2024 Hospital Safety Grade report from The Leapfrog Group. The Garden State ranks in the top 10 states for the highest percentage of "A" hospitals, joining states like Utah, Virginia, and Connecticut. Police have identified a kayaker who died after being pulled from Raritan Bay. Carlos Melendez, 64, of Irvington, was kayaking with a friend when police were called at about 1:35 p.m. Sunday, July 31, Keyport police said. Police found one kayaker on the shore.
