18-Year-Old Fatally Shot In Newark: Prosecutor
A 18-year-old Elizabeth resident was killed after being shot in the head on Sunday, Dec. 1 in Newark, authorities said. Wes Thalerand was fatally shot at 9 p.m. at 188 Huntington Avenue, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. He was pronounced dead at University Hospital in Newark, authorities said. The investigation is ongoing, authorities said.

Nutley Hockey Player, 19, Dies In Fiery Route 80 Crash
A 19-year-old hockey player from Bergen County was killed after his car caught fire on Route 80 in Warren County on the evening of Sunday, Dec. 1, authorities said. At 8:21 p.m., a Hyundai SUV driven by Carmine Argenziano was traveling westbound on Route 80 in Hope Township when it veered off the right side of the roadway, hit multiple trees and then caught fire, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. Two People Fatally Struck By Truck In Elizabeth IDed: Authorities
Two people in their 20s were fatally struck by a truck in Elizabeth on the evening of Sunday, Aug. 19, authorities said. Tatiana Liceth, a 26-year-old Elizabeth resident, and Edisson Mauricio, 24 , were crossing the roadway at Routes 1 and 9 and Maple Avenue, when a tractor trailer that was stopped at the light proceeded forward when the southbound light turned green, a spokeswoman for the city said. Liceth and Mauricio were fatally struck, while the driver remain on scene, authorities said. The crash remains under investigation, authorities said.

Two young children and a 75-year-old woman. were killed in a house fire in West Orange on Saturday, July 13, authorities said.
