Four Arrested In NJ Detective's Home Invasion Killing: 'Significant Step Toward Justice'
Four people have been charged for their roles in a violent home invasion that left a Cumberland County detective dead, authorities announced.
Nyshawn Mutcherson, 29, of Vineland; Jarred Brown, 31, of Bridgeton; and Richard Hawkins Willis, 32, of Gloucester City, were each charged with first-degree murder, the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release on Monday, Oct. 28. Two West Nile Virus-Related Deaths Among Six New Cases Reported In New Jersey
New Jersey health officials are reporting an additional six cases of West Nile Virus including two deaths, and two presumptive viremic blood donor (PVD) cases in the state.
The six new WNV cases are residents of Bergen, Camden, Cumberland, Hudson, Mercer, and Middlesex counties (one 50+, two 60+, one 70+, two 80+). The two individuals who died were older adults from Cumberland and Mercer counties, the DOH said.
Two human cases of WNV were reported earlier this year in Middlesex and Union counties.

Tornado Watch Shifts, Now Covers These Counties Across NJ, PA As Debby Creeps In
The National Weather Service has shifted its tornado watch across New Jersey and Pennsylvania as Hurricane Debby creeps in.
In New Jersey, the tornado watch is in effect through 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9 and covers Bergen, Essex, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Warren counties in North Jersey.
In Pennsylvania, the tornado watch is issued in Lehigh, Northampton, Carbon, Monroe, and Bucks counties.
The tornado threat for South Jersey has diminished since the initial watch was issued early Friday morning, which has since been canceled.

The dump truck driver accused of passing through a stop sign in a fatal crash in Cumberland County has been formally cited, authorities said on Tuesday, July 2.
Lamaas Arthur, 55, of Port Norris, received citations for disregarding a stop sign and careless driving, according to the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office.
The crash was on Thursday, June 20 in Commercial Township.
No criminal charges had been filed as of Tuesday.
New Jersey State Police said that Arthur had "numerous motor vehicle violations."

Claudia J. Smith-Heard, 51, of Millville, was accused of aggressive behavior to get a 4-year-old boy to take a nap on his first day of child care at Golden Gate center on Nov. 1, 2021, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Vineland police.
A jury found Smith-Heard not guilty on all counts on Wednesday, Feb. 21 after a trial, according to Crystal Harris, criminal division manager.
