Dogs Mauling Child Shot, Officer Grazed By Bullet At Central Jersey Motel, Prosecutor Says
A police officer and a child were both hospitalized during a harrowing incident at a Central Jersey motel, authorities said. Sayreville police responded to The Knights Inn in Sayreville in response to a distressed family member staying at the motel who called 9-1-1 saying that their family dogs were attacking a 10-year-old boy around 11:20 a.m., Monday, Nov. 4, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said. 6-Year-Old Child, Man Shot In Newark
A man in his 20s and a 6-year-old child were hospitalized after being shot on Tuesday, Nov. 1 in Newark, authorities said. Police responding to a report of shots fired on the 300 block of South Orange Avenue found the victims, who were taken to University Hospital for treatment around 7 p.m., Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The incident remains under investigation. No further information was available.

? Bullet Fired Into Clifton Home Misses 1-Year-Old Child
A bullet fired into a Clifton home missed hitting a baby, authorities said. Police turned to the public Tuesday for help investigating the shooting, as well as another a few days later. They don't appear related, authorities said. The first occurred around 9:45 p.m. Aug. 12 on Hamilton Avenue. At least three rounds were shot into the front of a home occupied by a family, including a 1-year-old child, Police Lt. Robert Bracken said. "Fortunately, no one was struck," he said.
