Elderly Driver Plows Into Three Ocean County Homes, Two Hospitalized: Police
An elderly driver crashed into three homes Saturday morning, Dec. 21 in Manchester Township, sending two people ot the hospital, police said.
It happened in the Leisure Village West community, causing extensive damage just before 11 a.m., according to the Manchester Township Police Department.
Upon arrival, officers found a 2017 Toyota Camry with severe front-end damage. The driver, identified as an 84-year-old woman from Manchester, was extricated from the vehicle by first responders. Thousands Without Power In Central Jersey Due To Wind, Downed Lines
Widespread power outages were fueled by high winds and flooding, authorities said.
As of 9:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18, Monmouth County was the hardest hit with more than 15,500 homes and businesses without power, according to Jersey Central Power and Light.
Ocean County reported 2,420 without power; Middlesex County experienced 1,109 outages; Mercer County had 955 outages and Burlington County had 90.
There also were scattered outages in Camden and Gloucester counties, PSE&G reported, saying there were 427 outages across South Jersey.

An 82-year-old passenger was killed in a two-vehicle crash on the Jersey Shore, authorities said.
On Thursday, April 7, at approximately 9:59 p.m, Manchester Township police responded to the intersection of State Highway 70 and Manchester Boulevard in the Whiting section of town to investigate a two-car motor vehicle accident involving a pickup truck and sedan, with the occupants of the sedan still inside the vehicle.

An off-duty Lakewood police officer and a second passerby rescued a Brick motorist trapped in a burning car, authorities said.
Lakewood Police Officer Daniel Spagnuola, who was driving to work at the time of the crash, reportedly saved the driver's life by applying a tourniquet to his bleeding leg, police said.
