Driver Airlifted After Crashing SUV Into Jersey Shore Home On Labor Day, Police Say
A driver was airlifted after crashing into a home in New Egypt on Labor Day, authorities said. Plumsted police, firefighters, and paramedics responded to the crash at the intersection of Brindletown Road and Front Street early in the evening on Monday, Sept. 2, the township said in a Facebook post. The driver was the only person in the SUV and was taken by helicopter to a hospital. No one was in the home during the crash. Crews worked to make the house structurally sound and "delicately" removed the SUV.

Motorcyclist Escapes Serious Injury After Crash In Jackson: Police
A motorcyclist escaped serious injury after she crashed in Jackson on Friday afternoon, July 26, authorities said. She crashed at about 2:15 p.m. at the corner of North New Prospect and Farmingdale roads, according to Jackson Police Chief Matthew Kunz. The unidentified rider complained of arm, shoulder and back pain and was taken to an area hospital, the chief said. No other details were immediately available.

A driver was given a summons for careless driving after their vehicle overturned in Montgomery Township on Thursday, July 18, authorities said. Authorities have released additional information in the double shooting Wednesday, June 12 in Carteret. Two females were found having suffered gunshot wounds on Roosevelt Avenue around 9 a.m., and were airlifted to area hospitals, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Carteret Police Chief Dennis McFadden said. Belmar police have identified a swimmer who drowned Sunday evening, Sept. 3. Gilberto Mendez Jr., 42, of Roselle Park, was swimming off Fifth Avenue just after 6 p.m. when he began struggling in rip currents, Belmar Borough police said. Police and EMS crews were called to a stabbing in Central Jersey, according to developing and unconfirmed reports. The stabbing occurred at about 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8 in the 300 block of Parsonage Road in Edison, initial reports said. Male Critically Wounded In Central Jersey Morning Shooting
One person was left critical following a shooting in Central Jersey Sunday, authorities said. Two cats and a dog died in a pre-Christmas fire that severely damaged a Bergenfield home. Firefighters who responded within three minutes were met by flames on the first floor of the 2½-story Lunn Avenue home shortly after 1 p.m., Bergenfield Fire Chief Edward J Kneisler III said. 100 Central Jersey Firefighters Braved Blaze During Blizzard, 3 Hurt
More than 100 firefighters battled a major house fire as this week's blizzard ramped up in Central Jersey, authorities said. The fire started in a wood-framed, mixed-use building on Broad Street in Manasquan shortly before 4 p.m. on Monday. A woman was airlifted to a local hospital with a head injury after her boat ran aground on the Jersey Shore. The woman hit her head on the 32-foot Boston Whaler boat during the 2 a.m. crash off the coast of Stafford Saturday, NJSP officials said. She was flown to an area hospital for treatment.
