Assemblyman Paul Kanitra, R-Brick Township, said in a Facebook post that his car was taken from his mother-in-law's house in Hazlet just before 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9. Kanitra was in Washington, D.C. for his work as the owner of the lobbyist firm Lobbyit.com. Kanitra said the thieves drove up to the home in a stolen white BMW with temporary plates. Robert Poelstra, 74, was facing two third-degree charges including theft by deception, the Hazlet Police Department said in a news release on Thursday, July 11. Ex-Auto Repair Shop Manager Stole $90K: Prosecutor A former manager of an automotive repair shop has been indicted in connection with $90,000 in thefts, authorities said. The thefts allegedly took place over the course of 15 months, according to Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey.
