Firefighters Find Car On Roof, Driver Self-Extricated In Salem County A driver escaped a rollover crash relatively unscathed Saturday, Oct. 5 in South Jersey, firefighters said. Willow Grove firefighters responded to Parvin Mill Road and Middle Drive where the vehicle had rolled over and struck a utility pole, the department said in a news release. Driver Falls Asleep, Causes Power Outage For 1,000 In Barnegat, Police Say Nearly 1,000 people are without power in Barnegat Sunday morning, June 30 due to a car that ran off the road when its driver fell asleep at the wheel and struck a utility pole, police said. The 23-year-old woman crashed a 2019 Honda eastbound on West Bay Avenue, snapping the pole and leaving 1,000 homes in the dark, police said. Atlantic City Electric was on scene making repairs and restoring power to the area. The driver was treated on scene by Quality Medical but refused further medical attention.

Winter Storm Knocks Power To Thousands Of Jersey Shore Residents A pre-Valentine's Day winter storm knocked out power for thousands of Jersey Shore customers. According to the outage map for Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L), 4,019 customers in Monmouth County lost electricity as of 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13. The vast majority of those were in Ocean Township with 3,371 customers without power, which is nearly 25 percent of the township. At least 100 customers were without service in Middletown, Tinton Falls, Colts Neck, and Manalapan. JCP&L also said 24 customers lost power in Ocean County. Sixteen of those were in Toms River. …

Motorist Killed In South Jersey Crash Police, firefighters and EMS crews were called to a fatal crash in Atlantic County, authorities said. The crash occurred about 10 a.m. Friday on the 4400 block of South White House Pike in Mullica, according to initial reports. By 10:30 a.m., the crash was confirmed as fatal and the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office had been called to the scene, reports said.  At 1 p.m., DOT still had the Pike closed in both directions, reports said.
