Aberdeen Mom With 'Bright Aura', UK Band's No. 1 Fan Dies After Suspected Hit-And-Run An Aberdeen woman has died more than three weeks after she was hospitalized in a suspected hit-and-run crash, authorities said. Judith Fox-Hernandez, 58, died from her injuries, the Aberdeen Township Police Department said in a news release on Wednesday, Oct. 2. She was hit near the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Second Street at around 7:24 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4. Officers found Fox-Hernandez in the road and she was rushed to Jersey Shore University Medical Center. She was pronounced dead at the Neptune hospital on Sunday, Sept. 29. Authorities Investigating Pedestrian Fatality In Aberdeen A fatal pedestrian crash in Aberdeen Township is under active investigation, authorities said. Shortly after 11:15 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 11, members of the Aberdeen Township Police Department responded to the northbound lanes of Route 35 between Prospect Avenue and Amboy Road to find the victim, an adult male resident of Aberdeen. Benjamin Pessin was charged with one count of kidnapping, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of aggravated sexual assault, Aberdeen Township police said. The two girls were found knocking on doors in Aberdeen early Monday, Dec. 4, trying to find a place to sleep, police said on Facebook. Ex-Jersey Shore Police Officer Sentenced For Tampering With Evidence: Prosecutor A former Aberdeen Township police officer has been sentenced to nearly a year in jail for tampering with evidence on two separate occasions last year, authorities said. Philip M. Santiago, 35, was sentenced by Monmouth County Superior Court Judge Jill O’Malley to 364 days in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution.
