An Asbury Park photographer was critically injured when she was stabbed while walking with a friend on Labor Day, according to a fundraising campaign. A GoFundMe page said Andrea Laign was the victim of the afternoon Asbury Avenue stabbing on Monday, Sept. 2. The fundraiser called her a "beloved member of our creative family" in the city. Ashan Jackson, 19, surrendered at Atlantic City police headquarters on Monday, Sept. 2, the department said in a news release on Thursday, Sept. 5. A wanted man from Williamstown was accused of having a gun and running away from police after he was caught jaywalking in Atlantic County, authorities said. Gregory Ganski III, 24, was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 4 for weapons charges and his outstanding warrants, the Absecon Police Department said in a news release. Driver Airlifted After Crashing SUV Into Jersey Shore Home On Labor Day, Police Say
A driver was airlifted after crashing into a home in New Egypt on Labor Day, authorities said. Plumsted police, firefighters, and paramedics responded to the crash at the intersection of Brindletown Road and Front Street early in the evening on Monday, Sept. 2, the township said in a Facebook post. The driver was the only person in the SUV and was taken by helicopter to a hospital. No one was in the home during the crash.
