Two people were rescued and taken to a trauma center with serious injuries after their car veered off a Hunterdon County roadway and plunged into a pond early Monday morning, authorities said. The Whitehouse Rescue Squad responded with local police to the crash off Higginsville Road in Readington and found the trapped victims around 7:30 a.m., the squad said. Numerous emergency crews rushed to the scene of a truck that slammed into a home in Warren County. The Oxford Emergency Squad responded to the crash at a home in Oxford shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, the department said. The vehicle was unoccupied at the time of the crash, according to South Branch Emergency Services, Inc., which also responded. One person had to be extricated from a crumpled car and taken to a nearby trauma center following a crash on Route 78 in Hunterdon County, authorities said. The crash occurred near the intersection of Route 78 and Route 523 in Tewksbury on the morning of Tuesday, April 12, according to the Whitehouse Rescue Squad. A driver was taken to a nearby trauma center following a rollover crash in Hunterdon County, authorities said. The vehicle crashed into a telephone pole and overturned on Route 523 near Edgewood Road in Readington around 6:15 p.m. Friday, township police said in a release. A car barreled into a Hunterdon County home over the weekend, authorities said. The crash occurred outside a home in Alexandria Township shortly before 3:50 p.m. Saturday, according to the Hunterdon County Technical Rescue Task Force. The crash destroyed a column between the home’s garage doors, which then had to be stabilized before the vehicle could be safely pushed back into the driveway, the task force said. Authorities ID Man Who Died In Hunterdon County Apartment Fire
Authorities have identified Sunday's victim of a Hunterdon County fire at a housing complex for disabled residents. Thomas A. Mahoney, 62, was found with serious burns inside his apartment at The Meadows at Oldwick, around 6:40 a.m., Acting Hunterdon County Prosecutor Michael J. Williams said in a joint release with local police. The blaze broke out in the kitchen of Mahoney's unit at the independent living facility, authorities said.
