Beloved North Jersey father John Douglas “Doug” Perkowski died at his Montclair home following a valiant cancer battle on Sunday, Jan. 15. He was 44. Born in Whitehouse, Doug was raised in New York City, where he went to the Buckley School, his obituary says. Doug studied Mandarin Chinese and played center on the varsity football team at his high school, Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts. Hunterdon County Motorcyclist Dies In Crash, 41
Beloved Hunterdon County motorcyclist and technical school graduate Jeremiah J. Kratz died in a crash on Friday, June 10. He was 41. Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jeremiah graduated from Warren County Technical School in Washington and lived in Whitehouse at the time of his death, his obituary and social media pages say. Jeremiah was known for being a talented craftsman and machinist, as well as his passion for cars, and was often referred to as a “gearhead,” according to his memorial. : 3-Alarm Fire Destroys Hunterdon County Home
Fire crews jumped to action to knock down a three-alarm blaze at a Hunterdon County home. The fire broke out early Sunday morning at a home in East Whitehouse, according to a Facebook post from the Oldwick Fire Company. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered smoke coming from the back of the home and stretched multiple lines to the basement, authorities said. Two dozen fire units worked on the blaze for more than seven hours before clearing the scene, authorities said. Fire crews in Whitehouse, East Whiehouse and Readington also assisted, authorities said.
