Man Killed In Fiery Overnight Newark Crash
A man was killed in a fiery crash early Sunday, Oct. 27 in Newark, police said. The male driver was found inside a vehicle that caught fire after crashing into a tree and colliding through a nearby residential gate at Weequahic Avenue near Bergen Street around 3:30 a.m., Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Firefighters extinguished the fire and the man was pronounced dead. No other injuries have been reported. No further information is available.

Florham Park Man Fatally Shot In Newark: Prosecutors
A 44-year-old Florham Park man was fatally shot in Newark on the morning of Wednesday, June 21 authorities said. At 10:33 a.m., police responded to a report of a shooting on the 100 block of Weequahic Avenue, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Police found Murad Loyal suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Stephens and Fragé said. A 19-year-old reputed Newark street gang member wanted for shooting three rivals with a modified machine gun last weekend is in federal custody. Munir “Mu” Muhammad was carrying the converted 9mm handgun when he was arrested on Wednesday, April 12, U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger said.
